What is The Global Plunge?
The Global Plunge is a way for young adults to deepen their spirituality and experience the church as a global church. Participants are given the opportunity to live in community in Geneva, Switzerland, with Lutherans from another country, discovering the way that the Lutheran churches around the world work together through The Lutheran World Federation and as ecumenical partners with other denominations around the world as a member of the World Council of Churches. Participants then experience a week in the Taizé Community, an ecumenical monastic order in Taizé, Saône-et-Loire, Burgundy, France. It is comprised of more than 100 brothers from Protestant and Catholic traditions from about 30 countries.
