{"id":746,"date":"2009-11-06T00:20:46","date_gmt":"2009-11-06T05:20:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.elca.org\/hungerrumblings\/?p=746"},"modified":"2009-11-06T00:20:46","modified_gmt":"2009-11-06T05:20:46","slug":"ted-talks-technology","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.elca.org\/worldhunger\/ted-talks-technology\/","title":{"rendered":"TED talks Technology"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As I watched the TED talk \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/[ted id=644]\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ted.com\/talks\/lang\/eng\/jacqueline_novogratz_a_third_way_to_think_about_aid.html\">A Third Way to Think About Aid<\/a>\u201d by Jacqueline Novogratz I began to think about ELCA World Hunger\u2019s work with Companion Synods and partner organizations. According to the \u201ctalk\u201d it seems that our work is heading in the right direction. We support microcredit lending opportunities and value relationships with the Lutheran World Federation and ELCA Global Mission as we work as partners with churches around the world to address solutions to hunger and poverty. The key to these partnerships is that we are able to address the real issues \u2013 those voiced straight from the communities in which we work.<\/p>\n<p>As the video goes on it looks further into how the idea of a \u201cpartnership\u201d can continue to be tuned in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> century. It begins to look toward increasing the use and spread of technologies in places where their abilities would be incredibly beneficial, yet are currently little known. I like the idea of moving forward with an eye toward smarter irrigation, farming, energy systems and clean water supplies. Perhaps we should continue to innovate even our tagline\u2026as \u201cGod\u2019s Work.
