Carolyn Kees, a former member, was one of our companions on the journey. After visiting Tabgha, on the Sea of Galilee, where the church remembers Jesus feeding the multitude, Carolyn (AKA Grandma Kenna) told me a family story. I asked her to write it down for me. Here\u2019s what she wrote. <\/div>\n<div><em><span style=\"font-size:130%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.elca.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/52\/hungerrumblings\/2009\/07\/dsc_1497seaofgalileesm-780190-199x300.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_1497seaofgalileesm-780190\" title=\"dsc_1497seaofgalileesm-780190\" width=\"199\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-285\" \/>Papa Bill and Grandma Kenna were providing care for two of their grandchildren, Lindsey and Andrew. Lindsey, about age 4, was eating her dinner, a quesadilla. Lindsey was thoughtful as she tore off pieces of her tortilla. \u201cYou know,\u201d she said, \u201cJesus was talking with a lot of people\u201d (Lindsey paused to reflect.) \u201cAnd they were hungry.\u201d (She paused to eat a bite or two.) \u201cAnd a little boy had fish and bread that fed everybody.\u201d After another pause, Lindsey looked up at asked, \u201cI wonder what they had to drink?\u201d Grandma Kenna replied, \u201cThey were by a lake.\u201d Lindsey was satisfied with that answer and finished her quesadilla.<\/span><br \/><\/em><br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.elca.org\/hungerrumblings\/uploaded_images\/IMAGE_040loavesandfishesSM-710398.jpg\"><\/a><strong>Jesus Feeds the 5,000<\/strong> (Matthew 14:13\u201321) is the gospel lesson for Sunday, August 3, 2008.
