30 experts on religious rights from 23 different countries are attending “Freedom of Religion and Rights of Religious Minorities,” a conference sponsored by The World Council of Churches (WCC) Commission of the Churches on International Affairs and hosted by the Ecumenical Patriarch.\u00a0 The conference will end\u00a0Dec 2.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In\u00a0a presentation to the\u00a0gathering, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I said there must be respect for the \u201cinherent rights of all human beings and their aspiration and rights of religious freedom should be important components to sustain tolerance among all God\u2019s creation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are called to promote dialogue among all communities and peoples to create peace, harmony and tolerance in a world that is faced with violence, conflicts and religious hatred\u201d, the Patriarch said.<\/p>\n
