This year the assembly will observe the 500th anniversary of the Reformation under the theme \u201cFreed and Renewed in Christ\u201d and the accompanying tagline \u201c500 years of God\u2019s Grace in Action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the assembly, voting members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>hear reports and review the work of churchwide organization officers, leaders and units;<\/li>\n<li>receive and consider proposals from synod assemblies;<\/li>\n<li>elect a new ELCA vice president, board members and other leaders as specified by the constitution or bylaws;<\/li>\n<li>establish ELCA policy;<\/li>\n<li>worship together;<\/li>\n<li>adopt a budget; and<\/li>\n<li>conduct other business related to the ELCA churchwide organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The assembly will be streamed live on the churchwide assembly website.
