Women of the ELCA

Commentary and reflections on issues, events and trends in our church, society and world, as seen through the lens of our mission and purpose and our ministries.

About us

Women of the ELCA is the women’s ministry organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. In thousands of congregations across the United States and the Caribbean, women gather in community in local groups of Women of the ELCA to grow in faith and live their faith through ministry and action as expressed in our Mission Statement and Purpose Statement.

Are the women in your congregation:

  • coming together for Bible study?
  • organizing to address issues in the community?
  • advocating for others, locally or globally?
  • serving people in need?
  • serving on the altar guild or serving funeral lunches?
  • quilting, making school kits, or assembling layette kits for Lutheran World Relief?

All of the above–and much more–describes Women of the ELCA!

If you would like to know more about forming a Women of the ELCA group in your congregation, have a question, or simply have a comment you’d like to pass along, please contact us. We have much to offer women’s ministry in any congregation!
