Make Malaria History

Become a Malaria Griot!

Posted on February 17, 2012 by jessicanipp

What’s a griot, you ask?
Here’s how the Malaria Griot website explains it:

“In West Africa, a Griot is a storyteller, a singer, a history keeper and an agent of cultural change. Echoing this tradition, ONE and Malaria No More are excited to launch the fourth round of the Malaria Griots Project, a program designed to train passionate volunteers into powerful spokespersons in the fight against malaria.”

Dianne Johnson, a Malaria Griot and ELCA Malaria Campaign volunteer in the Seattle area, highly recommends the Malaria Griot program. She says, “the [computer-based] class is excellent and gives a depth of knowledge and lots of ideas on presentations and events around malaria awareness and fundraising.  If anyone has questions I would be delighted to share with them my experience.”

Please consider applying to join the Malaria Griot program.  (It’s free!) But hurry– applications are due February 27th!
