25 Years Ago – the ELCA Constituting Convention
The Constituting Convention of the ELCA was held April 30-May 3, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio. We’ll have more anniversary notices here as we approach the 25th anniversary of the beginning of operations on January 1, 1988.

When this video was first available it was interesting. Viewing it now was moving, especially the pouring of the water and later of the wine. It was powerful when we were there as observers, and remains empowering now. The ELCA is indeed a “new church” and its trust in the Gospel is bearing much fruit.
