Hot Resources!

Summer is here – and we’re all feeling the heat.  It seems appropriate then that we take some time to talk about “hot” resources!

Recently, resource center directors were asked, “What is the resource that was checked out or asked for the most from your center in the month of May?”

Are you looking for a good resource for personal use? Are you interested in borrowing a resource from your synod’s resource center? Are you a resource center director interested in purchasing a new resource to add to your shelves? If you answered ” yes” to any of these questions, take a look at nine of the “hot” resources that were popular in our synods’ resource centers during the month of May.

  1. DVD – “How Lutherans Interpret the Bible” (Mark Allen Powell) Order this resource through Select Learning. This is an excellent resource for congregations who are taking part in the Book of Faith initiative.
  2. DVD – 36 Parables – Amber (includes the parables of the “Good Shepherd”, “The Leafing Fig Tree”, and “The Rich Man and Lazarus.” Learn about 36 Parables and see samples on their website.
  3. Curriculum – SPARK – This is the the most recent (and very popular) curriculum developed by Augsburg Fortress Press. You can choose from three different kinds of curriculum: traditional classroom, lectionary based and rotational.
  4. DVD – Nooma (Rob Bell) – As of today, there are twenty-four Nooma DVDs. These DVDs are short (11-14 minutes) and are wonderful
